Knowsley - Materials Recycling Facility

In December 2010 Environmental Waste Controls plc doubled the size of the Knowsley Business Park Head Office and Material Recycling Facilities operation.

With a philosophy to recycle or to reuse waste, we do not own any landfill sites. We compact waste at source, which significantly reduces transportation costs and the carbon footprint of waste disposal today.

In addition to operating public and private sector waste recycling services, we sell and service machinery such as compactors, balers, shredders, bins and tippers.

Employing some 400 people across the UK, we also handles waste through private contracts with commercial premises, from retail to hotels to manufacturing as well as managing Household Waste Recycling Centres across the country for Local authorities.

Chief Executive Bill Shaw said: “Against the background of the recession and economic challenges, it was great news to be able to announce plans to double our presence in Knowsley and to announce the creation of new jobs.  Environmental Waste Controls are passionate about recycling and, unlike our competitors, we do not send waste to landfill sites”
