Community Projects
EWC have always taken account of its economic, social and environmental impacts in the way it operates, with the objective of maximising the benefits and minimising the downsides. Formulating this in to a definitive CSR policy relevant to the localities in which we operate, is now a key issue in the development of EWC.
Corporate social responsibility is about doing more than the legal minimum to contribute to sustainability and the growth of the local environment. By the very nature of our business we are doing this day in, day out.
Specific examples of our commitment to CSR are:
- Sponsorship and clean up of a local roundabout;
- Salvaging crutches and medical aids for re-use in the NHS;
- Close associations with charity groups for re-use of materials;
- Donation of redundant IT equipment to schools;
- Free recycling service to local shops & schools;
- In house recycling of everything from Christmas cards to shrink-wrap.
